Dear Participants of the MFUniverse Conference,

Please read carefully the important information below.

TRANSPORTATION:

Rio de Janeiro:

There will be FOUR BUSES departing from the Rio de Janeiro International Airport to the Hotel do Frade, in Angra dos Reis, on Sunday, November 28. The FIRST bus will depart at NOON. There are two terminals in the airport and since parking is not allowed for more than half-an-hour, those participants who have not sent yet the updated information about their flight schedules are kindly asked to send it immediately to the email address: kandus@astro.iag.usp.br,

specifying also the name of the airline co., so that we can organize the timetables and departure location of the four buses. It is about 2 hours drive from Rio to the hotel.

Sao Paulo:

On Sunday, November 28, a shuttle will depart from the Vila Mariana Subway Station (Parking lot) at 11:00 AM, and then will pass by the Guarulhos International Airport at NOON. Likewise, there are two terminals and those participants arriving in Sao Paulo who have not sent yet the updated information about their flight schedules are kindly asked to send it immediately by email, specifying also the name of the airline. It is about 6 hours drive to the hotel, in Angra dos Reis.

On Friday, December 3, the buses will leave the Hotel to the same destinations in Rio and Sao Paulo at 2:00 PM.

HOTEL INFORMATION IN RIO DE JANEIRO:

Some of the participants will arrive one day before or stay one day more after the meeting, in Rio de Janeiro. For those who may be interested in spending a night or two in Rio de Janeiro and have not made reservations yet, there is a hotel in Copacabana beach that frequently hosts visiting scholars to the National Observatory of Rio de Janeiro, called Debret Hotel (www.debret.com):

The rate per night is 150 Reis + 5%. The transportation from/to the airport is by taxi.

PROGRAM:

An updated version of the program of the Conference is available in the website.

PROCEEDINGS:

As informed before, the Proceedings of the Conference will be published by the American Institute of Physics (AIP), Conference Series (book + CR ROM). Invited speakers and contributing participants will be asked to submit a paper right after the conference.

The deadline for sending the manuscripts is FEBRUARY 1, 2005. The author instructions will be available very soon on the webpage of the Conference:

MONEY EXCHANGE:

The Brazilian currency is REAL. There are exchange offices and ATM machines in the airport.

The registration fee may be paid in real, dollar or Euro.
