5th ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE CONFERENCE


MAGNETIC FIELDS IN THE UNIVERSE:
FROM LABORATORY AND STARS TO PRIMORDIAL STRUCTURES

Angra dos Reis, Brazil, November 28 to December 3, 2004

Dear Participants of the MFUniverse Conference,

TENTATIVE PROGRAM:

A tentative program of the Conference is now available in the website
(or see the doc file attached to this message).

The schedule is a little tight but very exciting.
We have had several requests for oral presentations, unfortunately,
however, we could not accommodate all of them in the program of talks. Such
cases have been accepted as posters. There will be ample space
and time for the sessions of posters. A list of them will be also
available briefly in the webpage.

The invited talks will have, in general, 30 minutes (which already include
5 minutes for questions), and the oral contributions
15 minutes (also including 5 minutes for questions).

REGISTRATION FEE:

The registration fee for the conference is US$ 150,00.
Payment should be done at the registration desk in the convention
center of the Hotel do Frade on the first day of the meeting, Sunday,
November 28, starting at 16:30 hs. The fee includes the registration
package, bag, a copy of the book of the conference abstracts, the
reception on Sunday evening, the conference dinner on Thursday, the coffee
breaks, and a copy of the book of the Proceedings which will be
published by the American Institute of Physics (AIP Publs.).

CONFERENCE DINNER:

We are planning to have a Luau at the beach, on Thursday, December 2,
21:00 hs.

FREE AFTERNOON:

There will be a free afternoon on Wednesday, December 1.
The participants may take a boat trip to the islands of Angra dos Reis,
or make an excursion to the tropical forest, or even
go visit the old colonial charming village of Paraty (about 40 km from
the Hotel), or simply rest in the hotel
(these trips are not included in the hotel costs or in the registration
fee, but can be arranged directly in the Hotel during the conference).

TRANSPORTATION:

The NOC will organize bus (or van) transportation to Hotel do Frade
departing from the Rio de Janeiro International Airport, IAG/USP
in São Paulo, and the international airport of São Paulo on Sunday,
November 28 and leaving the Hotel for the same destinations on Friday,
December 3, after lunch. The timetables of the buses will be announced
soon (see also information on transportation in the webpage).
