Indicação de Nomes para o Conselho Assessor do CNPq Como é do conhecimento de todos, está aberto o processo de recolhimento de indicações de nomes para membro do Comitê Assessor de Física e Astronomia do CNPq. Em particular, há uma vaga para a área da Astronomia, visando a substituição do colega Jacques Raymond Daniel Lépine, cujo mandato expira em junho próximo. Nas instruções gerais do CNPq (http://www.cnpq.br/cas/renovacao_cas.htm), é dito que as sociedades científicas e tecnológicas de âmbito nacional podem indicar nomes, e a SAB vai fazê-lo. Vamos enviar ao CNPq uma lista tríplice, conforme consta das instruções. Podem votar os sócios quites com a SAB, mas só são elegíveis os bolsistas pesquisadores I do CNPq. Como o CNPq não disponibiliza nenhuma lista de bolsistas, caso haja dúvida é melhor consultar o CV-Lattes do candidato. Todos os pesquisadores I são elegíveis, com exceção de Jacques Lépine, que não pode ser reconduzido, e de Luiz Paulo Ribeiro Vaz, presentemente membro do CA de FA. Lembramos que o CNPq solicita a indicações de nomes, mas a escolha final dos membros dos CAs é de exclusiva competência do Conselho Diretor do CNPq. Os associados podem votar nos nomes que quiserem, mas, conforme norma do CNPq, a lista a ser encaminhada será formada pelos três nomes mais votados de três instituições diferentes. Para facilitar a apuração, solicitamos que os nomes sejam seguidos das siglas das respectivas instituições a que pertencem. International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy & Cosmic Physics (Comunicado por Germán A. Racca em 20/04/2010) The "International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy & Cosmic Physics at the University of Heidelberg" (IMPRS-HD) in collaboration with the Landesstiftung Baden-Wuerttemberg announces the --> 5th Heidelberg Summer School: --> First Stars and Cosmic Reionization --> September 6-10, 2010 IMPRS Heidelberg and the Landesstiftung BW invites graduate students and postdocs to its 5th Heidelberg Summer School. This year's school is centered on physical processes in the early universe and the question how the first stars and galaxies termineated the cosmic dark ages through the process of reionization. The school aims at giving a comprehensive overview of our current understanding of the formation of the first and second generation of stars in the universe and the build-up of the first galaxies. It addresses the process of reionization, its physical origin and evolution in time, and current and future observations that help to gain deeper insight into this important epoch of cosmic evolution. The main lecturing program is presented by invited speakers and is accompanied by also science talks on specific topics by local experts.
