************************************************************* OPORTUNIDADES ************************************************************* 3. Three year post doctoral position at LPNHE to work on Auger (Comunicado por Martin Makler em 26/07/2009) A 3-year high level postdoctoral position will be opened in the Auger group of the LPNHE in Paris. This position can be renewed for 3 additional years and also allows to prepare the tenure position at CNRS. The position will be opened next fall or when a suitable candidate is found. Candidate will work with us on the analysis of the data of the Pierre Auger Observatory. Please send your application (motivations, brief description of your past experiences and the list of your 10 most relevant publications) to Antoine.Letessier-Selvon@in2p3.fr if you are interested. Dead line for submission is September 13th 2009. A couple letter of recommendation are very welcomed but not mandatory. The position will open on October 1st at the earliest and in principle no later than December 1st. ************************************************************* EVENTOS ************************************************************* 4. Discussão sobre o Long Latin American Millimetric Array (LLAMA) Project durante a IAU-GA (Comunicado por Elisabete M. de Gouveia Dal Pino em 29/07/2009) Dear Colleague, Argentinean and Brazilian Astronomers are planning to install two radiotelescopes to operate at millimeter and sub-millimeter wavelengths in the Argentinean Andes. The installation of these facilities at distances of about 200 km from ALMA and APEX will allow unique millimetric and submillimetric VLBI observations in conjunction with these arrays in near future, in the Southern Hemisphere (see LLAMA3.pdf in attachment for details). We would like to invite you to participate of a meeting to discuss the issues of this Long Latin American Millimetric Array (LLAMA) Project during the IAU-GA, next month, in Rio de Janeiro. The meeting will be held at the IAU-General Assembly Convention Center in two different dates: August 3, 5:30 PM, Room R 2.11 August 11, 6:00 PM (at the same Room) We are looking forward to seeing you in Rio, The LLAMA Team http://www.astronomy2009.com.br/scientific.html: ================================================================ 5. 11th Symposium on Nuclei in the Cosmos (Comunicado por Isabel Aleman em 29/07/2009) Nuclei in the Cosmos (NIC) brings together nuclear experimentalists, nuclear theorists, astronomers, theoretical astrophysicists, cosmochemists, and others interested in the scientific questions at the interface of nuclear physics and astrophysics. The XI. conference of this series will be held during  19-23 July 2010 in the Stadthalle of Heidelberg, Germany, We would like to cordially invite you to attend the meeting. You can find more information, including a preliminary program, on the NIC XI webpage at http://www.lsw.uni-heidelberg.de/nic2010 If you want to receive further notifications regarding the conference, please DO NOT REPLY to this e-mail, but fill out the pre-registration form at  http://www.lsw.uni-heidelberg.de/nic2010/preregistration.phtml We would also be grateful if you could forward this e-mail to anyone who might be interested in attending. NIC-XI is jointly organized by the GSI Helmholtzzentrum fuer Schwerionenforschung (Darmstadt); the universities of Basel, Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Giessen, Heidelberg, and Mainz; the Max Planck Institutes for Nuclear Physics (Heidelberg) and Chemistry (Mainz); and the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies. Heidelberg is a beautiful city in a valley at the Neckar river. It is famous for its well-preserved old town with many historical buildings, for its castle, and for its university, which is one of the oldest in Europe. The Stadthalle is located in the city center, so that a large number of hotels are within walking distance. We would be delighted to welcome you in Heidelberg in 2010! The Local Organizing Committee of NIC XI. Obs.: The conference will be accompanied by a Summer School funded by the Wilhem und Else Heraeus Foundation. It will be held in the week before the conference at GSI (12-15 July; nuclear physics part) and Landessternwarte Heidelberg-Königstuhl (16-17 July; astrophysical part). ************************************************************************** Participe da lista de discusssão FÓRUM-DA-SAB Para associar-se vá a http://groups.google.com/group/sabforum **************************************************************************
