2. INSCRIÇÕES PARA O MESTRADO NO OBSERVATÓRIO NACIONAL

Encontram-se abertas até 28 de novembro as inscrições para o processo 
de seleção do Programa de Mestrado em Astronomia do Observatório 
Nacional.  Podem se inscrever formados em Astronomia, Física, 
Matemática ou cursos afins. A prova escrita será realizada no dia 05 
de dezembro. Pelo menos 3 (três)
bolsas (Capes/CNPq) estarão disponíveis.

3. POSITION AT THE OBSERVATORY OF BOLOGNA TO WORK ON GAIA 
   COLLABORATION

The Gaia team at the Observatory of Bologna has a vacant position for 
a Master or a PhD graduate with expertise in calibration of 
photometric and spectroscopic instrumentation. Within the Data 
Processing and Analysis Consortium, CU5 is responsible for the 
treatment of the G-band integrated photometry and for the low-
resolution BP/RP spectrophotometry. The Bologna group investigates the 
scientific models for the absolute calibration of the instrument and, 
with the teams in Barcelona and Groningen, is engaged in the ground-
based observations needed for the definition and construction of the
grid of spectrophotometric standars stars. The candidate should have
experience in the observations, treatment and flux calibration of 
photometric and spectroscopic data. The contract for this position, 
supported by the Italian Space Agency (ASI), is initially for one year 
and is renewable for up to 4 years. The starting date will be 2

4. CONCURSO PARA PROFESSOR ADJUNTO NA UFSC

O Departamento de Física da UFSC realizará brevemente um concurso para
preenchimento de vaga de Professor Adjunto na área de Astrofísica  
Observacional 
Ótica e/ou Infravermelha, nas linhas de pesquisa 
Astrofísica Estelar e/ou Extra-galática. As inscrições estão abertas
no período entre 10/11/2008 até 10/12/2008 às 20:00 horas. Os
candidatos devem ter doutorado na área de Astronomia, Astrofísica,
Física ou Ciências Exatas e da Terra e experiência comprovada por meio
de pelo menos 01 (um) artigo publicado em revistas indexadas Qualis A, 
sobre Astrofísica estelar ou astrofísica extragalática. 

O programa para a prova didática do concurso compreende os seguintes 
tópicos: 
1. Estrutura estelar: equilíbrio hidrostático na sequência principal e 
a relação massa-raio; 
2. Energia estelar: a cadeia pp e CNO como fontes de energia para 
estrelas;
3. Indicadores de distância em astrofísica;
4. O debate Shapley-Curtis;
5. A expansão do Universo;
6. A equação de transferência radiativa;
7. Telescópios Ópticos;
8. Nebulosas Astrofísicas;
9. Estágios finais da evolução estelar;
10. Estrelas binárias.
