1.  bHROS EM OPERAÇÃO NO GEMINI
     (comunicado por Claudia Mendes de Oliveira e Bruno Castilho)

Após os testes científicos e caracterização, o espectrógrafo
de alta resolução bHROS está em operação normal no Gemini sul.
 
O espectrógrafo fornece espectros com resolução 150mil,
e o detector registra 7 ordens espectrais. Os comprimentos de
onda observáveis em uma única exposição podem ser
conferidos na Observation Tool do Gemini simulando-se uma
observação.

A magnitude limite do instrumento e´ cerca de V=14.5 e os tempos de
exposição podem ser calculados utilizando-se os dados fornecidos
na pagina do Gemini: bHROS, Performance & use, bHROS Sensitivity.

O tempo médio de setup é de 25min por estrela. Projetos que utilizarem
mais de um comprimento de onda central para a mesma estrela serão
mais eficientes.

2.  POST-DOC FELLOWSHIP
     OBSERV. ASTRONOMIQUE DE MARSEILLE PROVENCE
     (comunicado por Henri Plana e Cássio Leandro)

We have recently obtained from the University 6 months for a post-doc
fellowship to work in the field of massive star formation in the
Galaxy. This project deals with the use of the Virtual Observatory 
(VO) to study the induced versus spontaneous massive star formation in 
the Galaxy. The month salary is 2000 euros (including taxes). The 
position must be filled as soon as possible.

We need to find - urgently - a candidate that has experience in the
field of massive star formation (and possibly in VO).

The proposed candidates have to send us a CV including a list of
publications and a motivation letter.
