RESULTADO DA CONSULTA SOBRE A PUBLICACAO DE RESUMOS DA SAB NO ADS Divulgamos a seguir o resultado sobre o interesse dos socios na disponibilizacao no ADS dos resumos da reuniao anual da SAB, e, em caso afirmativo, qual idioma deveria ser adotado. Participaram desta consulta 62 socios. ( 0) INDIFERENTE (11) NÃO (10) SIM - obrigatoriamente em Inglês. ( 8) SIM - obrigatoriamente em Inglês e em Português. Como anunciado anteriormente, esse resultado sera levado para discussao na proxima assembleia geral. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 - PPARC-FUNDED POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW, UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON Comunicado pelo socio Raymundo Baptista University of Southampton Department of Physics and Astronomy Postdoctoral Research Fellow Applications are invited for a PPARC-funded Post-doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Southampton. This three year position is expected to be available from October 2002. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with Dr Boris Gaensicke and Dr Tom Marsh in the area of interacting binary stars. In particular, the PDRA will be involved in a large-scale study of the galactic population of cataclysmic variables, designed to test our current understanding of close binary star evolution. Candidates must hold, or be about to obtain, a Ph.D. degree in Astronomy. Experience in observing with ground-based optical telescopes and familiarity with data reduction/analysis of spectroscopic and photometric data will be an advantage. Salary will be in the range £17,626 to £26,491 on Research Grade 1A, depending on experience.
